Recipe 1

Banana Tarte Tatin

Sorry this is a late post but the other night we made an amazing banana pastry recipe. It was made with butter, suger, bananas (of course), cinnamon, orange, flour, home-made puff pastry, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

My mother made the puff pastry while I made the carmelized sugar. I had to keep stirring and stirring, until the sugar dizzolved and became a beautiful caramel colour. It started to smell like it was burning but did not look like it was. When we thought it was done my mother poured it on top of the cut bananas and it became rock solid within seconds. We tasted some of the caramel and it tasted burn`t. Blahhhhhh! So my mom had take a knife and scrape the rock hard caramel/bananas off the glass dish. What a pain. So it was back to step one with the caramel suger it took anther ten minutes but we got it perfect. So we spooned it on the bananas layed the pastry on top and put it in the oven for 30 minuets. As we took it out we were overwelmed with the sugary carmel smell. As I put the knife in and began took cut, a warm sugary feeling of sucesse rose out of the magnificent pastry.
