Receipe 5

SWEET POTATOE AND
CHORIZO SOUP

Perfect for a fall supper. The aroma of the sweet potatoes, carrots, onion, celery, garlic, parslet and Choriza sausage was just what I needed at the end of a hard day. The receipe did not let us down. It was superb! Added a dollop of sour cream and it was set for a king! Enough leftover for lunches the next day. :)

Receipe 4

My Sweet and Sour Pork
This one is a definite repeat. Most Delicous! The combination of fresh garden peppers, chillies, cilantro, Montreal Steak Spice, pineapple tidbits, soya sauce and balsamic vinegar...yum yum. Of course the peppers and cilantro were from my garden. I only wish I could have used my own pork - haha- don't think so. Dish was topped beautifully with some sesame seeds and placed on a bed of brown Basmati rice. Even Harry agreed this was a keeper.

Recipe 2&3

Mini Shell Pasta with a Creamy Smoked Bacon and Pea Sauce.

&

Mexican-Style Corn

After a long hard week we decided we were going to turn to Jamie to cook us up some comfort food. Leah and I picked out two receipes to try out and went to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients. Parmesean cheese, mini pasta shells, lemons, limes and a loaf of French Bread were on our list. Fresh mint taken from our garden was a bonus! We were ready to cookup a delicious meal. The aroma of bacon, peas, mint, and cream was waffling in the air when Harry came home asking when supper was going to be served. The dishes were completed in a short period of time, thanks to Jamie`s great receipes. :)

The corn on the cob was a favorite with all three of us - a definite repeat. With the lime juice, butter and red chilies plastered on the cob, we bit into very spicy corn. Thank goodness for the bread and juice we had on hand. The mint in the Pasta dish was spectacular - peas and mint go hand in hand. Delish!

Recipe 1

Banana Tarte Tatin

Sorry this is a late post but the other night we made an amazing banana pastry recipe. It was made with butter, suger, bananas (of course), cinnamon, orange, flour, home-made puff pastry, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

My mother made the puff pastry while I made the carmelized sugar. I had to keep stirring and stirring, until the sugar dizzolved and became a beautiful caramel colour. It started to smell like it was burning but did not look like it was. When we thought it was done my mother poured it on top of the cut bananas and it became rock solid within seconds. We tasted some of the caramel and it tasted burn`t. Blahhhhhh! So my mom had take a knife and scrape the rock hard caramel/bananas off the glass dish. What a pain. So it was back to step one with the caramel suger it took anther ten minutes but we got it perfect. So we spooned it on the bananas layed the pastry on top and put it in the oven for 30 minuets. As we took it out we were overwelmed with the sugary carmel smell. As I put the knife in and began took cut, a warm sugary feeling of sucesse rose out of the magnificent pastry.

We are planing on doing at least 2 meals a week using all Jamie's recipes. There will be errors and successes, food might taste gross and delish, but we will always have fun.
